“When you go through deep waters, I will be with you.”

I recently read in the Grief Share Daily Devotional that “Grief is the cost of loving someone.”  How true that is. Mark’s mom was such an important woman in our lives and we loved her so much.  We are grieving because she’s not with us anymore; we can’t talk with her anymore or go places together or hear her voice or see her smile or feel her hugs. I could list hundreds of things that we miss about her.  This has probably been one of the most difficult times in our lives.

But the Lord has been carrying our family through this time. Isaiah 43:2 says, “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown.”  A friend shared this verse with our family after Mark’s mom passed away.  The Lord has used it in my life to comfort me as I’m reminded that He is always with us and that He helps us.

We look forward to one day, when we will see Mark’s mom again in Heaven.
