Hello Again!

Hello again! It’s been a long time since I’ve written on our blog!

In January, we started ReachGlobal’s pre-field on-line training course. (It was an excellent course and I’ll share more in future posts about different things we learned!) The course required about 7-10 hours of our time each week. That doesn’t sound like a lot, but after all of my other responsibilities, there just wasn’t any additional time I could give to blogging.  But, the on-line course ended recently so I hope that I can begin blogging regularly again!

So to begin again, let me share a testimony with you of something the Lord lovingly reminded me of recently.

During this past year, we have been developing ministry partners; people who want to partner with us in global missions by praying and giving to the ministry of developing, empowering and releasing African Christian leaders in youth, children’s and holistic ministry.  We have been blessed to watch God develop our team of partners and to hear sweet testimonies of how He has led people to become part of this ministry.

However, the time that it is taking us to get to Cameroon is taking so much longer than we thought it would take, and it is such a harder process than we thought it would be!  I have been tired, frustrated and discouraged at times.

But the other day, I read 1 John 5:14-15. John writes, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us -whatever we ask- we know that we have what we asked of him.”

The Lord used this passage to remind me how the things that have or haven’t happened, things that have brought me frustration or discouragement, are really according to the Lord’s will.  We wanted to be in Cameroon last fall so that we could start to learn French and begin the ministry, but it’s the Lord’s will for us to be in the States right now. We have been waiting to rent our home, but it is His will right now that we haven’t.

There is a lot of peace and contentment that comes with knowing that the Lord is in control, and to know that His plan and His timing are perfect.  Please pray that we would daily trust the Lord, for His good and perfect will!

  1. This is so encouraging! Thankyou! 🙂

    • Your welcome 🙂 I’m so glad that it encouraged you, Liz 🙂

  2. You are right on- God’s timing is everything… and it’s usually not the way we’d do things… but it’s so encouraging that He knows better than we do. 🙂 Personally, I have enjoyed having your family around a little longer… 😉

    • Thank you, Sarah! We feel the same way about you & your family 🙂
