We’re waiting.

We’re waiting to hear back from several people and church leaders about setting up meetings to share about the Africa ministry.

We’re waiting for some people and a couple churches to let us know if they’re interested in joining our Africa ministry support team.

We’re waiting for the Lord to take us to Cameroon.

It’s so hard to wait sometimes! What are you waiting for?

One of my favorite passages of Scripture has become Hebrews 11. The faith chapter. I love reading about these heroes of the faith! They had amazing faith in the midst of difficult circumstances.

For my devotions, I decided to go through Hebrews 11 slowly and read more about the people spoken of in this chapter. I have been reading about Abraham’s life. And something about his wife, Sarai stood out to me.

God told Abram that he would have his own son. Sarai waited and waited to have a baby. And when she couldn’t, after waiting a long time to have a baby, she gave Abram her Egyptian maidservant, Hagar, to be his wife.  Sarai took matters into her own hands. And Hagar conceived Ishmael.

After 13 more years, God told Abram again that his wife would have his son. We read in Genesis 21 that “…the Lord was gracious to Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did for Sarah what He had promised. Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised him.”

That’s a long time to wait!  But, it was in the Lord’s time.

We need to continue to trust Him and wait on Him.

Waiting on Him, Cathy Lynn

  1. Good word Cathy. Waiting on God, while doing what we know to do in the meantime.
