Father’s Day in Africa

On Father’s Day, we went to a 3 1/2 hour Cameroonian Church service, took Mark out for a delicious Father’s Day lunch at a restaurant down-town Yaounde, and played games together as a family!

I thank the Lord for Mark. He is a wonderful husband and father to our children. I’m glad that there is a special day set aside to honor fathers, but I hope that I would regularly encourage and honor Mark as he fathers Hannah and Joshua. It’s an important role, and he is doing an amazing job! They are so blessed to have him in their lives.

We also talked on the phone via Viber with my dad. Though we couldn’t celebrate with my dad in person like we have almost every Father’s Day before this, I’m so thankful that we could at least talk on the phone (especially because our internet had been out for several hours that afternoon and early evening!) I’m so thankful for my dad; he has been a wonderful dad to me, and grandpa to our kids!

Happy Father’s Day to all of the special dads in our lives!  Know that you have such an amazing impact in your kids’ lives!
