I don’t want to miss any of it!

Some days, I think about how quickly time is going.

Hannah will graduate from high school in just three years! This is a crazy thought when it feels like it was just yesterday when she was dressing up as her favorite Disney princess, having tea-parties, playing with her dolls, and getting on the school bus to go to kindergarten!

So much will change when Hannah graduates from high school and then goes to college. We won’t see her everyday; we won’t hug her good-bye, we won’t be there when she gets home, and we won’t always know where she’s at when we go to sleep.  The thought of not hearing her sing in her bedroom 🙂 or not having her at the dinner table each night makes me sad!

But I have a feeling that the Lord will prepare our hearts as her graduation date draws closer. With each passing day, God will develop Hannah to be more and more ready for the next step, and God will prepare us to let go of Hannah for what He has next for her.

When I think about these things, I am reminded again that I need to live this life with intentionality.  I want to make the most of every day that God gives me with Hannah and Joshua.

Being home for Hannah and Josh after school and hearing about their day.  Celebrating with them for a good grade or when they make the team. Being there for them in their hurts or helping them through their problems.  Good-night hugs and bed-time prayers.  I don’t want to miss any of it!
