side-by-side

This morning in our living room, Mark and I took some time to pray together and talk about ministry, over coffee of course 😉 We will continue to meet often in this way because we are serving in ministry together, among the most vulnerable in Cameroon, and we have so much to discuss and pray about!

I appreciate the gifts that the Lord has given Mark, and how the Lord has made him. And Mark acknowledges my gifts and strengths too! He has been my greatest encourager in how the Lord has made me. I’m so thankful that the Lord ordained for us to do this life together! It is such a joy to raise our children together, and I just love serving in ministry in Africa, with my best friend, side-by-side!

One of the leaders of Hope Social Action, who is single but courting a girl, expressed to Mark that he wants to minister with his wife in the future, the way Mark and I serve together. This was a good reminder to us that people learn not only from the words we share, but even more so from the way we live our lives. Pray that together, Mark and I would serve the Lord well, for His glory. And pray that the Lord would guard our hearts, our marriage, and our home.

We are laying a foundation for ministry among the most vulnerable in Cameroon. This is a time of seeking the Lord and dreaming of all that the Lord may have!

While we sometimes want to jump ahead, we are taking time for prayer, research, and lots of discussions with the leaders of Hope Social Action. We are learning all that we can about best practices in orphan and widow care. We have more questions than answers! But we know that the answers will come in time, and that the Lord will continue to lead us. Pray that the Lord would give us good counsel that we seek regarding how to best minister among widows and orphans in Africa. And pray that the Lord would give us wisdom to know how to best minister and partner with our Cameroonian brothers and sisters in Christ.
