39 days

Mark and I love serving together in Cameroon, and doing what God has called us to do here.

We love this stage of life with our children!
They are more independent. But they still need us.
We talk about the good days… and the bad.
We counsel them in how to handle problems.
And how to look at things from a Biblical perspective.
We celebrate holidays, and take time for traditions.
We have movie nights, and we eat pizza on Fridays!
We have their friends over, and play games.
We pray, and we explore.

I recognize that every day with them is a blessing because some missionaries have grown children or grand-children who live far from them.

While serving on the mission field, there is a grand ocean and many time zones that separate grandpas and grandmas, parents, children, aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and dear friends.

One of the hardest things about being a missionary, or missionary kid, is being so far from our loved ones, and not seeing them more often.

But 39 days.

“I can’t wait to stay at grandma and grandpa’s, and eat pancakes for breakfast with them, and talk to them, and not have to rush off to do home-work.” Hannah said this morning, as she looks forward to seeing our family and close friends in America this summer.

We will go back to the States in 39 days!

Our days and weeks there will be quite busy. We will participate in a training that will better equip us to serve in orphan ministry. We will visit each of our supporting churches. We will visit several colleges for Hannah to consider.

But we will have a little, very much-anticipated, time with our family and dear friends, including time at Hannah’s grandma and grandpa’s house! 🙂

Pray with us:
* That the time in the States would be all that the Lord would have.
* That we would communicate well about the ministry in Cameroon.
* That additional individuals or families would want to join with us in ministry among the most vulnerable in Cameroon by praying and giving.
* That our time with family, friends, and supporters would be blessed.

Thanking the Lord in advance, Cathy Lynn
