empowering student leaders

Mark says “Serving is a necessary component of our faith.  We need to learn and grow in our knowledge of Jesus, and then make sure to apply these truths in our lives.  Without service, we can shrivel up and become dry inside.”

Mark is currently leading youth group for missionary kids and Cameroonian students. He named the group L’Abri, which means refuge in French. In addition to connecting with teens and encouraging them in their faith, which Mark loves to do, he is also intentionally taking time to develop and empower student leaders to serve

Mark says with anticipation, “Of the 50+ students attending L’Abri,  20 are involved in leading some part of the night! Students are leading small groups and worship. They are organizing games and preparing snacks. Others are strategizing how to change the school auditorium into a place more welcoming for the students.  I am excited by the willingness of the students to participate!”

Check out the short video clip of the L’Abri Worship Team practicing at our home for youth group, and pray for Mark as he ministers among missionary kids who come from all over the world and Cameroonian students who are the future of this country!

Thankful to be serving our awesome God with my amazing husband, Cathy Lynn

  1. Mark and Kathy,

This is great! What a wonderful ministry this is to train students to follow Christ and to serve him. We are praying for you.

I am working on a trip to come to see you all there in Yaounde. What does your schedule look like in February?
